What’s New?
The New Website Is Coming!

Remember when your website was a 3-page brochure? It wasn’t that long ago. Today websites are dynamic tools which allow visitors to learn, play, shop, research, order, review, link, design, build, blog, imagine and find a spouse. We have decided not to play matchmaker on our work-in-progress website. All bets are off on everything else!

More importantly, we’re making the changes that you have asked for. The general comment that we keep hearing is to continue to make your life easier by giving you idea’s to make you money, processes to save you money and systems to tie all of your print and supplies into one, easy program. Oh, you’ve also demanded that we keep it simple and easy to navigate. Our new website and on-line ordering enhancements will go a long way towards realizing this ultimate goal.

Our plan is to introduce you to our new site in our Fall newsletter. Stay tuned!

Sales & Marketing Tips
Recommended Reading

The trend in business-to-business selling is to go right to the top and call on upper-level management. The following books are great tools for helping you connect and work with C-level executives.

Selling to VITO (the Very Important Top Officer) by Anthony Parinello (ISBN: 978-1580622240)
Selling to VITO includes tactics to help you get appointments with top decision-makers. Steve Visio, president of Executive Data Control in Springfield, Mo., learned about this title from a consultant he met through a peer group. He credits the ideas in Selling to VITO with helping him get an appointment with the CEO of a $100 million company. “Our value proposition is not as effective with the purchasing department." The techniques in Selling to VITO have helped Executive Data Control reach top decision-makers more quickly than in the past, he says.

SPIN  Selling by Neil Rackham (ISBN: 978-0070511132)
Selling to VITO helps you get in the door with top managers; SPIN Selling provides a plan once you do, according to Visio. SPIN is an acronym for Situation, Problem, Implication, Need Pay-off. "It's a questioning method to get people focused on a problem that will have dire consequences if they don't do something--now," says Visio.

Here’s a reason to visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland this summer:
Break on Through: The Lasting Legacy of the Doors

When Jim Morrison died at age 27 in 1971, no one could have predicted that the Doors would provide the soundtrack to several generations of rock and roll fans. In four short years, the Doors produced a catalog of enduring albums and indelible hit singles. They rose from obscurity to achieve an unparalleled level of reverence. In honor of the Doors 40th anniversary, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum created Break on Through: The Lasting Legacy of the Doors. The exhibit, which opened on May 25, 2007, draws to a conclusion on September 1, 2008.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1966, the Doors made their recorded debut in the midst of the psychedelic groundswell that was rising on the West Coast. Unlike their contemporaries, the Doors often explored the darker realms of blues, jazz, Eastern music and literature. Their breakthrough hit, “Light My Fire,” may have appeared to be a simple hippie-esque catchphrase, but a hypnotic rhythm and a sinister vocal propelled it. Through their steadfast vision and the undeniable charisma of Jim Morrison, the Doors practically became a counterpoint to the prevailing counterculture. No other American group of that era simultaneously established and maintained musical credibility and achieved so much popular success.

The exhibit provides a career overview and an examination of the unmatched durability of the Doors. Produced with the full blessing and cooperation of the Doors, artifacts from this exhibit have been provided by Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, Robby Krieger, the estate of Jim Morrison, the Doors Music Co. and several collectors. The exhibit features instruments, rare manuscripts, production notes, audio, video and photography.
