Metcom began as Metropolitan Forms & Systems in 1983. At that time, it was one of the first independent suppliers to focus strictly on software-compatible computer forms and checks. In 1984, Tom Warnez joined the company in a sales capacity. The business grew quickly –the result of the new sales energy combined with an exploding market for PC software. On New Year’s Eve, 1986, the company was purchased by Tom Warnez. The business continued to expand but it never failed to back up its sales growth with unmatched service.
In 1996, the company name was changed to Metcom, and the business evolved into a resource for a wide range of products and services. Along the way, Metcom developed several market niches and product specialties. It also spent years expanding and improving its relationships with key suppliers in order to offer the best products at the best value.
What did not evolve was Metcoms’ commitment to offer the very best service. The company has found ways to reach out to businesses and organizations who do not typically receive a high level of service. Metcom representatives continue to make personal visits to the vast majority of these organizations, and many clients have become friends.
